![]() I need my DTS 5.1 releases with correct logo art as well. I have DCC with standard covers, and the like. So after I finish up my tagging clean up. And we're now creating monster music databases with our collections that we had no idea would be possible when much of the music was originally amassed. The Rio hit, Apple took over, and then some other smart guys on the scene took it to home servers with audiophiles very much in mind. I'm amazed at how far all of this has come. I use a lot of control c - control v into fields and it goes pretty fast. It's fast and easy and you can almost do them in bulk. The good news is that if you botch your tagging on lots of titles - fixing things is not as bad as it could be with these two programs. This correction was fast and easy within JR. I had both Rolling Stones, Rolling Stones, The and I had The Rolling Stones as well in the library. For a spelling error - a quick right click and type was effective in JR. But I preferred using T&R for correcting those cases. In JRiver I could spot titles with unassigned fields very quickly. I came to the conclusion that for most tagging needs Tag and Rename was desirable, and other times the tagging engine in JRiver was prefered. Recently I spent three long sessions going over titles on the drive. Previously when tags were really bothersome I would just re-rip the CD rather than use a tag editor. And even once I got a handle on it, I still made some tagging choices I've now decided were not optimal. Early on I did now know what I do now about tags. I've been ripping my cd collection for over 3 years now, and I finally decided it's time to straighten out tags. My Billboard collection is looking rather great now. but there are some fun tracks in there that I may as well have. It's regular Pop, and loads of cheesy junk as Pop radio went to crap. But now I am grabbing the ones simply titled Top Hits, and getting 1975 to 1983 in that series. (regarding Rhino) I was previously going for just the Top R&R Hits, and Top R&B Hits sets (besides the Have a Nice Day and the British Invasion). I am also completing my Billboard Top Hits collection of discs. I got the new remastered Wings Over America "Archive Collection", and the two Syd Barrett discs "Opel" and "The Peel Sessions" to complete my Barrett folder section on the music server. A couple tracks out of those discs did not rip accurately, but no tracks played back with audible flaws, so that was good. I just did 30 discs last night checked out from the public library. So this is what I am doing, I am using the NEC drive (one of my other nicer drives) for an initial rip in burst mode, and then whatever comes up (one or two tracks in general) inaccurate, I redo those few tracks in secure mode with the new LG drive. It's so obviously the best "ripping" drive in my collection, I hate to use it for ripping, and would like to save it for writes only, as ripping does age drives, and can burn them out. It was in new condition still in original box. I bought an older LG DVD-R/CD-R drive from ebay as I noted in a previous post. ![]()
